Senior Citizens - Match Reports

Tue 3rd Sep: 2024 Annual Summary

"Big thank you to all who have played in the league this year.

We have had mixed results and played in some awful weather, both wet and hot. We started with a ten point win and headed the league for one week. We didn’t continue this success and ended the year bottom of the table. However, we played some enjoyable games and made new friends as well as renewed old friendships.

The gala day was much more successful, we won on two rinks, drew on one and lost on one. Our drawn game was played at Griffin against Harlow. Our club had 5 points and the winners, Harlow, had seven points. I believe this is the best result we have ever had at the Senior Citizens gala."

Diana Armstrong (Senior Citizen's Captain)

Tue 28th May: May 28th began as another wet Tuesday but by the time we arrived at Cheshunt the rain had stopped and we were able to play the full 18 ends in the dry. The result being each club got five points (wins on two rinks) and no shot difference (61 shots each)

We are presently third in the league with 17 points, the two clubs above us each having 18 points.

Tue 21st May: Two games have been played so far this season, Bantham & Ongar (home) and Whit Hern (away). Both games were played in rain so not a good start.

We won on all four rinks at home and lost on three rinks away to Whit Hern, this match finished after 10 ends because of the heavy rain. We are second in the table with 12 points at the moment.
